There are two things you can do with the user friendly Web Translator application. You can browse the web and have the application translate webpages from one language to another – that would be the first one. You can also type in text, paste a piece of text, or load a document with text in it, and have the application translate it to the language of your choice – that would be the second thing you can do with the Web Translator application.

You can install Web Translator on a PC powered by just about any Windows edition, from Windows 7 and Windows Vista all the way back to Windows 98 and 95. To get Web Translator up and running, you need to download a 1.2MB executable, run it, and click through a straightforward setup wizard.

At the top, on Web Translator’s interface, you will see a bunch of buttons that you can use to surf the web, launch the translation process, choose the languages you want to translate to and from, and more. Type in the URL of a webpage and it will be loaded in the pane below these buttons. Hit the “Text” button and the pane below will be divided into two: the text you want to translate is presented above, the translated text is presented below.

Access a webpage of your choice and Web Translator will translate it. From the language dropdown menus at the top, select English and French, for example. In the address bar, type in the URL of a website, hit Enter, and you will notice that the application translates the website from English to French.
You can also type text, paste text, or load DOC, TXT, and RTF documents with text into Web Translator and it will translate the text from one language to another.

15 days is the maximum amount of time you can use Web Translator for free.

Can’t figure out what a foreign website’s all about? Use Web Translator to translate that website into English. Want to send an email to someone in a foreign language? Use Web Translator to translate text from English to another language.

Pros

The application can translate to and from more than 50 languages. It can translate webpages as well as text (text that you pasted, typed, or text inside a DOC, TXT or RTF file). You can install Web Translator in one of several languages. Save or print the translated text.

Cons

Free to use for 15 days. The minimize button did not work.
